Network Opportunity and Development Map
The Network Opportunity & Development Map is intended to guide users through our existing and contracted network headroom, and the constraints and solutions identified in our Network Development Plan.
The map provides a unified view of the network headroom available across NGED’s Bulk Supply Point, Primary and Distribution substations. Indication of the demand and generation headroom is provided at Bulk Supply Point and Primary substations for both the existing connected network position and the future contracted position. Our Distribution substations include an indication of demand for the existing connected network position.
The new Network Development Plan layer shows the network constraints and solutions per Grid Supply Point, Bulk Supply Point, and Primary substations. These are provided for the next 10 years, having been produced by detailed network analysis. Solutions could be provided through flexibility services, conventional reinforcement or operational mitigation. Future Grid Supply Point substations are representative rather than exact locations, for confidentiality.
For detailed information on transmission delays relating to generation connections please visit clearview connect which provides a comprehensive view of capacity available at all our Grid Supply Point Substations. This includes an anonymised connection queue, and scheme specific information - you will require your enquiry number to see this detailed information. More information can also be found on our Statement of Works page.

The Network Opportunity & Development Map provides an indication of connection opportunities across all NGED’s Grid Supply Point, Bulk Supply Point, and Primary substations. The colour gradings are intended to guide the user to areas of the network where a connection is more likely to be achieved without significant distribution reinforcement. The new Network Development Plan layer navigates the user through constraints and solutions identified over the next 10 years horizon, determined through detailed network analysis.
